Honorary SpookHunter & Florida Historian and Author, the Man, the Myth, the Legend, Florida's very own MAN-In-Black has finally thrown his big black hat into the ring when it comes to ghost tours. For years Charlie Carlson has helped various tours around the state get started, but now you can go straight to the source when you are itchin' for a good old fashioned evening filled with Strange & Spooky things. |

The SpookHunters were graciously given a chance on two nights to take this tour for free, (Those signed up with the mailing list got to know about this before anyone else). Based in the oldest city in America, you and a group of about 10 people embark on a two hour walking tour around St. Augustine's historic district.
This Ain't Your Normal Ghost Tour. Saint Augustine is filled with your predictably mundane ghost tours, many of which you pass on your way around the city. One noticeable difference is that your group is limited to around 12 people instead of the 25 or more commonly seen roaming the streets of Saint Augustine. Also, instead of a costumed college student screaming out a memorized script, you get to interact with a guide that has dedicated his life to learning & knowing all that is Florida, and he might just pull out a deck of cards and perform a magic trick or two.
Another thing that sets this tour apart from all the others is that the tour is not focused only on ghosts & hauntings. In addition you are plunged into a Weird & Wacky world you didn't know existed in a city such as this. Some of the things you'll see for example is the Love Trees, a rarely seen fountain, the Zero Milestone Ball, and the narrowest street in Florida! |
|
What about the ghosts? Don't worry, there are plenty of ghost stories & haunted houses included on this tour. However, due to the natural activity of the city's nightlife, and having to compete with the other ghost tours' shouting guides, you're probably not going to encounter anything paranormal (Except for Charlie). You can be sure that the ghost stories & legends heard on this tour have been researched and are as true as a ghost story or alleged haunting can be. I suggest taking notes and possibly investigating the hot spots a few hours later after the bars have closed and the city sleeps.

Needless to say this tour was a blast. Weird Florida's Weird & Wacky Spook Tour has the perfect blend of the strange & scary, with a dash of unusual & horrifying. Plus, this tour is just fun. It has something for everyone no matter what age you are, or if you're a skeptic or a believer.

I suggest stopping by the SpookHunter's Webstore, purchasing a couple of Charlie's books then contacting the Weird Florida Fan Club and reserving your tour today! Don't forget, when you go on your tour, be sure to rub the love tree...you may get lucky!
